Before taking 6 years off from releasing music to the public, I used to put out a song every year on my birthday, January 15th.
Unlike most of my major releases, these songs aren't part of a big story or concept album.
They're standalone, sometimes a bit rougher, more raw. Like an updating self-portrait.
Sometimes it feels like releasing art on streaming platforms is just tossing it out to a void. It's necessary for reaching new people, but I like the idea of sharing early access, exclusive art, and deals to people who actively listen to and read what I put out rather than only catering to algorithms.
And as a completely independent business, I'm trying to keep people up to date on new works without having to depend so much on social media.
