An “externality” is “an indirect side effect or consequence of an industrial or commercial activity to an uninvolved third party...”

It could be negative, like pollution from large-scale industrial manufacturing...
or positive, like flower pollination from a beekeeper harvesting honey...

It’s easy to get caught up in what you’re dealing with right in front of you...
(your personal conflicts,
your political side,
the revenue your business brings in,
your social media performance...)
...and completely lose sight of the people and institutions that are neglected (or negatively affected) in the process...

We can’t always control the full reach of our words and actions, but being thoughtful about what we put out into the world has further ripples than we’ll ever know...

And I hope in the process of creating and promoting my art that I’m representing my intentions the right way too...
